On Thursday, a Bhojpuri singer was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl. Reportedly, he posted objectionable photos of her on social media after the incident.
The accused, who is also known as Babul Bihari, has been identified as Abhishek from Bihar. The Bhojpuri singer has more than 27,000 followers on his social media channel.
According to police, the accused took her to a hotel room, where he allegedly raped her and took objectionable photos of her.
A senior police officer said the accused posted the photos on the internet a few days ago. After seeing the photos, the girl’s family questioned her and later approached police on Wednesday.
An FIR has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and Information Technology (IT) Act at Sector 14 police station.
